RECIPE THREE: BAKED SWEET POTATOES (˶ˆᗜˆ˶)

Note: Potatoes and sweet potatoes are complex carbs, so they’re better than something like pasta! Nonetheless, I would try not to overeat on them if you can help it.

Directions:

  1. Preheat an oven to 400°F.
  2. Line a small baking sheet with tinfoil and then parchment paper.
  3. Spray baking sheet with oil spray. If using normal oil, pour the oil onto the baking sheet and tilt the baking sheet to evenly cover the surface.
  4. Wash the sweet potatoes, put them on the baking sheet, and lightly brush or spray with oil. Sprinkle salt to taste. Use a fork to poke holes in the tops of the sweet potatoes. Poke each one about 3-5 times depending on the size of the tato.
  5. Put the baking pan into the oven and set a timer for 40-60 minutes.
  6. Poke the tops with a fork every 10 minutes near the end of the cook time to ensure they are nice and soft. When you can easily pierce them and the outside skins are caramelized and crunchy, take them out of the oven.
  7. Let them cool for around 5 minutes and enjoy! I like to slice mine down the middle and add butter and another sprinkle of salt.
